Tetragrammaton Test of the Arizal

The Arizal teaches a method for assessing on what level a person is holding on spiritually. It is called the Tetragrammaton test and it is a very useful diagnostic tool. In Sefirotic Alignment Therapy it can be used to help us focus on which sefirot need to be worked on. While this test comes from the deepest Kabbalistic texts and has been historically used by Kabbalists, there is no reason why you cannot use it too. You will find this diagnostic test to be simple and relaible.

What To Do

Visualize (or have someone else visualize) the Tetragrammaton keeping in mind the following criteria:

• Clarity
• Color

Color/ shape:

The color of the Tetragrammaton indicates what soul level you are holding on. The Tetragrammaton is usually of one color, not the individual letters.

Clarity:

Are the letters clear, or partially cloudy, how do they resonate with you? Does it feel harmoniously lucid, confused, strong or not?

If it is blurry, has blotches or dark spots, that suggests that the sefira connected to that letter needs work.
