"The spiritual cause and treatment of cancer"
Presented by: Ya'akov Gerlitz, M.Sci & L.Ac
What does the inner-tradition of the Torah say about the prevalence of cancer today? What insight and direction does it give us in the cause and cure of this disease? In 1953 The Lubavitcher Rebbe gave a talk on the spiritual cause and treatment of cancer. In this discourse the Rebbe describes the uniqueness of our generation and how it affects our health. Throughout history diseases were characterized by deficiencies and weaknesses. Thus, doctors strengthened and "expanded" the organs of those who were sick. But, in our generation there is a new type of disease. Cancer is one of excess and unregulated growth. The Rebbe, drawing from Maimonodies' teaching that the soul also has diseases, compares cancer to the Chassidic doctrine of "yeshus" (a spiritual disease) and explains how this affects the physical body. As the Torah teaches, Hashem brings the cure before the disease. The Rebbe explains that Chassidus (disseminated in 1734) is the cure for cancer, a sickness that is widespread in the modern era. The rectification of one's spiritual plane (the soul) will have a salutary affect on the physical plane (the body). A comparison between the biological features of cancer and "yeshus" are also explored.

"Becoming Empowered Through your Jewish Consciousness"
Presented by: Haya Winiarz, M.A.
The nature of the Jewish soul is that it has the ability to achieve higher states of consciousness which include an intimate connection with G-d and the ability for people to experience "quantum interconnectedness." The creative empowerment of a Jew's free will extends far beyond themselves and powerfully impacts the rest of the world. This is important for our healing and wholeness as our generation approaches the final redemption. We will explore the difference between higher and lower states of consciousness. We will also describe the power of positive thinking, drawing from the works of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov and The Rebbes of Lubavitch. The goal of of this talk is to help one achieve the Jewish messianic ideal which is ultimate coherence. Tools from The Baal Shem Tov and Harav Kook for the awareness and intentionality in redemption-oriented prayer will be presented.
"Food, Spirituality, and Avodas Hashem"
Presented by: Reuven Ashenberg, M.A. Ed.,
This lecture focuses on the Jewish and spiritual view of food. We will learn the difference between how the soul and the body use food and how we need to combine both of them in our service to Hashem. We will then look inside the Torah where it discusses the spiritual food called Mann. We will learn how to apply the knowledge of Mann to today's food and explore how food impacts us on the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical level, as well as our connection to Hashem. The Torah teaches us the proper methods on how to be aligned with Hashem through eating. These are through: 1) brachas (blessings), 2) kavana (intention), and 3) the way one eats and drinks. These three approaches are essential according to Judaism and help us serve Hashem properly. Also discussed in the lecture are foods and drinks that are labeled "Blockers" and "Openers."
"How do we arouse G-d's desire to establish a healing relationship with us?"
Presented by: Ephraim Novak
A harmonious relationship between body and soul has the ability to raise the human being to a higher relationship with Hashem. This is based on the fact that Hashem created this world on duality and inter-dependency, ie. masculine-feminine and Hashem-Knesset Israel, etc.
This paper will show, with the help of three examples, how by re-balancing the body, the reflexologist (who makes use of pressure points which are the representatives of each organ) succeeds to cure illnesses and aches at their root, temporary or chronic. Negative emotions will no longer be an issue when the organ responsible for it starts to function properly. This will allow the patient to work with his inner, natural rhythm and therefore be a potentially better carrier of the Shechinah. As is stated, "... Just like clay in the hands of the potter, so are you in My hands, 0 house of Israel" (Piyyut of Yom Kippur).
"The Seven Shepherds: Archetypes for Healing and Spiritual Growth"
Presented by: Mendel Weinberger
The Torah provides us with seven powerful archetypes to inspire us to change. They are Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaacov, Moshe, Aharon, Yosef, and David. Each one of them correspond to one of the emotional attributes (sefirot) on the Tree of Life. They represent seven spiritual forces in ourselves that we can tap into for our own health and growth. If one of them is not functioning the way it should, or if the energy is not flowing through the pathways between them, then disease can occur. The inner work of contacting these inner archetypes, working to heal them, and balancing the energy flow is the subject of the lecture. Sources in the Torah and examples of how this work is carried out will be given.
"Aligning Oneself Through the Kabbalistic Sefirot"
Presented by: Rav Yitzchak Schwartz
By connecting to the sefirot using practical exercises and tools we can realign and enrich our souls and bodies. And we can achieve the following elements of the psyche:
- Internalizing G-d consciousness
- Aligning oneself to one's calling in life
- Opening up new avenues to accessing wisdom
- Facilitating emotional health
- Actualizing all of one's potential
